The tunica albuginea is a thick connective tissue capsule that surrounds the entire testis . The various stages of developing sperm can be seen as they migrate toward the lumen (spermatogonium, primary spermatocytes, spermatids, and spermatozoa). Generally only the nuclei of sertoli cells can be seen.
