| A. Testis (slide 63) The seminiferous tubules are highly convoluted and therefore, are sectioned at various angles. Steroid synthesizing interstitial cells (of Leydig) can be seen in the delicate, supportive connective tissue. The tunica albuginea is a thick connective tissue capsule that surrounds the entire testis . The various stages of developing sperm can be seen as they migrate toward the lumen (spermatogonium, primary spermatocytes, spermatids, and spermatozoa). Generally only the nuclei of sertoli cells can be seen. |
